My first Coloured pencil drawing for 2023, Hare 1/3
About Me
Brought up on the wild landscape of the Beara peninsula, I started drawing at a young age. My artwork always had an animal theme and that still stands today. After completing Art for the leaving cert, my creative side stayed in the background through college and when I started working.
A swift few years later, and a move to Kildare, the pandemic hit. I picked up my artwork again during the lockdowns and rekindled my love for all things creative. I completed a level 5 in Graphic Design skills with the Dublin Institute of Designs over 2020. I began my lino printmaking journey (which is still very much on going) and began developing my skill in other pencil mediums. I made soaps & candles for almost three years but due to inflation in 2022 I have pivoted the business, focusing on my artwork and creating workshops in art & craft.
My work consists of animal and nature art, created in Coloured pencil drawings, pastel drawings and in my Lino prints. I have a range of fine art prints, greeting cards and original art available in the shop.
I also create pet portraits in a range of mediums. I love gaining the character of the animal when I draw their eyes, it is my favourite part.
It is always very touching to create pet portraits of animals who have passed away. I feel I do my part to keep the memory of the beloved pet alive for the family members.
